  • madhim hachim et hakdousha

  • איזה יופי!!

  • Avinu Malkeinu ptach, shaare shamayim ptach, ha-sharei shamayim tefilateinu. Our-Father Our-King open, gates of heaven open, the-gates of heaven we-pray. Sing along to our living God, he only should be praised in all the earth.

  • Once a year this celebration takes place after covering the entire Torah and I believe the prophets. As someone mentioned they sing many songs for blessings during the next years bible/ Torah reading. The kissing of the scrolls is an act of thanksgiving and reverence for the law given to Moses on Sinai. This overall is an emotional and high energy event.

  • They're dancing with the holy books of the Torah. This is done annually on the holiday of Simchat Torah, happiness of the Torah.

  • What is this??? What are they singing, and why do some of them even look kind of "rapted", as if they were in ecstasy??? Will anyone please fill me in??? (and before I get accused of being an antisemite, I'm not at all, actually I'm a big supporter of Israel and love the Jewish people - although I'm an Italian Catholic).
