Depends on the situation. If you want to put a square stick through it, it makes a huge difference. I wouldt call it a square, I would say its close to a square.

100% totaly useless . a thousand sized holes == a thousand sized cutters. try doing that in inconel or stellite. nice gimmick . we have edm now its the 21st century

No its not strictly a square hole as the corners are rounded. Check mine out which gives a truly square hole.
