  • uhh in mario 64 thete can be as many stars as you want after you beat the game by making your own red coin levels and the cklosest unactive star turns active and u can collect it and eveyry time you do this yourstar count goes up

    I haven't played this game in a while, but I'm almost positive that there's 120, because once you reach 120 stars, the cannon in the front yard of the castle opens. Also, if you use the "Get all stars" cheat in the emulator, you get 120 stars.
