there are many books out, mostly fiction, but do portray what life was like as a young evacuee during the war. The chronicles of Narnia even have the topic within its pages, although i'm sure there were no lions and magical wardrobes back then :D

So glad I found this channel, and thanks for posting it!
Some kids were even shipped to North America to escape the threats posed at that time. (I read a book by one who was sent to Akron, Ohio that way. 10 years old, I think, he found it an adventure.)
The great events of life and history are left to mundane people to write about, but the mundane day-to-day life that meanwhile transpires during those events gets overlooked unless characters like you speak up. Cheers for doing so!

I love this. I remember sitting with my own grandfather and hearing stories from when he was a boy and in the army. I think the passing down of stories like this is so important. Thank you!
