Jun Akiyama made his pro debut for ALL JAPAN PRO WRESTLING in 1992 in a match with KENTA KOBASHI "He lost"... After completing his trial series in 1993 AKIYAMA entered the tag team division, and became somewhat of a tag team specialist, his regular partners included TAKAO OMORI, MITSUHARU MISAWA & KENTA KOBASHI... During this period JUN AKIYAMA continued to rise in the singles ranks and eventully recieved a shot at the TRIPLE CROWN CHAMPIONSHIP, However he never managed to win the title... Many fans saw AKIYAMA as the future of the company untill the big split in 2000...
JUN AKIYAMA was immediatly established has one of pro wrestling NOAH'S biggest stars from the very first show, he defeated MITSUHARU MISAWA to bag his first of 3 GHC championships in 2001, AKIRA TAUE IN 2006, and KENSUKE SASAKE in 2009... Shortly after AKIYAMA was forced to vacate the strap due to injury, he is currently OUT OF ACTION untill further notice...
