Since the 18th century Greenland has been a colony of Denmark. In 1979 it became autonomous but still remained a part of Denmark. In 2008, more than 75% of Greenland's population voted to extend the autonomy status of their island. Nevertheless, the country has never been independent. The island is very big and very rich potentially, but a low level of literacy along with poor income in harsh weather conditions raise concerns over Greenland's chances of survival as an independent state.

  • ... what the fuck are you talking about?

Greenland has large areas of grasslands and non ice covered areas. Almost all of the population lives on "green" land. Stupid Russian, should of known people there judge others countries without knowing anything.

  • Wait a sec.... Greenland desires independence from Denmark, but they want her flag to fly in front of the U.N.

That like trading an ass-whipping with a belt, & upgrading for a beating with a crowbar.

    wtf?

  • national geographic magazine june2010 said greenland could have 4 trillion dollars worth of oil.how long before the yanks arrrive

  • @MrMellingen First of all, norwegians were the first europeans to set in Greenland, so, in some time, u were interested in this land. Second, it is written Eskimoes, and besides, this word is obsolete, they're Inuits. This proves that you are an ignorant, and you don't know what are you talking about. Third, I'm from Argentina, I have NOTHING to offer to an ignorant like you, I'm not an expense to you or to anybody, and if I produce something, be sure you'll be the last to take benefit of it.

  • @eskorbutin89 nobody cares about a bunch of braindead backwards escimoes especially not norwegians. Im glad we don't own Greenland since you have NOTHING to offer, you would just be a huge expense since you wouldnt be able to produce anything.
