Diving in Babbacombe Bay in search of the Cuttlefish. Each year in April/May they come in from the deeper water to breed, when the water temperature reaches the right level. This video covers dives in Babbacombe Bay and also includes footage of dives on Shag Rock, Meadfoot Bay and a boat dive on the Orestone over the weekend of 23rd-24th April 2010. Lots of life including Cuttlefish, Dog Fish, Sea Scorpion, flatfish and lots of Crabs, Anenome and Starfish. Water temp was 9 degrees.

  • I did this dive just today, my mates suggested it they thought the cuttlefish come out in March getting it confused with May! We were still lucky though and saw one cuttlefish fly right past our heads when we accidentally startled it with our presence. Just wondering what kind of camera you got how much it costs and where to buy it. I'd love to be able to take footage like you have. Your camera also seems clearer than the visibility out of my mask!

  • @nerdyal Thanks for the comment. I bet in a few weeks Babbacombe will be full of Cuttlefish! I'd love to come back again. To answer your question my Camera Gear is a Canon Ixus 100is in a Canon housing with an INON 165AD Wide Angle lens, lighting from a Greenforce Squid 1200 LED. The wideangle lens does help make things look clearer as you are that much closer to the subject. You can buy all this from Cameras Underwater

  • bloody hell, i live in teignmouth and i had no idea what was out there until now. Thanks mate this really makes me appreciate where i live even more than.

  • @SpartanOnDeck - Thanks for the comment in my video, You happen to live in a near diving heaven! I'd be out in the water every weekend if I lived there... mind you I'd probably get divorced if I did so maybe just as well :(

  • @kjp543 Thanks pal

  • @SpartanOnDeck i have always found diving really interesting but i cant do it. Ive got bad ears, they build up masses amount of pressure from about 1 metre and it really hurts.

  • great job, I really enjoy it !
