  • The coolest sound the Phantom made was when it went into the downwind leg for landing. The vents for the blown flaps made this creepy wailing sound like an out of tune organ. It'd make the hair stand up on the back of your neck.

  • Wow, I wish I could've heard that in person

  • This is NOT the REAL sound of an RF4!!! I heard this in my childhood day-by-day as the son of an RF4-pilot living (very) close beside the airport where my father was stationed!!!

  • It's the real sound of a Phantom from airshow videos. Good enough for my purposes.

  • is this avalible for fSX??

  • I don't think so, this is an older payware craft from alphasim

  • Great vid, clever dub, thanks for sharing :)

  • mhm.... live it is betther....

  • poor F-4's one of the best fighters and now most are sitting in a bone yard to be scrapped

  • haha, excellent syncing the real sound to this animated video, must have taken some time to do it.. I remember that howling sound those F-4s made on landing approach & you'd always know it was a Phantom coming in, those J-79s had their own unique sound.. u can still hear it on the SKYFIRE dvd called PHANTOM, it's used as the intro about the last F-4 ANG squadron stationed in NV.. just google SKYFIREVIDEO & you'll find their website..

  • haha i remember the last sound clip.. it was from an F-14 tomcat breaking the sound barrier.. it works well in this vid.

  • @Shock1224 great point I remember that howling sound they( F-4N and F-4S) made on approach clearly, really wish i could find a recording of it for my flight sim

  • God, what a machine...the F4 Phantom.
