  • 5v -2.2v = 2.8 volts. You are right here .So the LED current

= 2.8 / 330 ohms ,Rout as you have stated =0.00848 A = 8.48 mA. Is this higher than standard LED forward current? As far as my knowledge goes with my 40 years of experience I know, an 5 mm LED can withstand maximum 25 mA. Please let me know your knowledge of standard LED current.you are referring to. If I am wrong by your standards then i have to go to schools again taking your advice.

  • When pos input> neg, output is Vcc and Vcc (~5V on your sch) going to LED.

LED current is (5V-2.2V)/Rout, more than forward current in Absolute Maximum Ratings for general LEDS
