Very rare footage from 1969 of the Portsmouth Field Gun crew in action.
For more info on the history of the Field Gun competition see my channel.
Sadly the video quality isn't great, but it is still a wonderful snapshot of this remarkable event.
My Dad is the chap in the slow motion swing. Brian (Brum) Godsell. This technique was invented by him.
Thanks to Thames Television and Bob Ralph for original video copy.

  • @MichelleTateFuller - hi michelle - which one is your dad? I knew him and your mum way back before you were born

  • My Dad is in this video - Harry Tate (Edward Tate). I would love to be able to help him re-connect with some of his former crew mates. He has often spoken of how much he loved running and his friends from these days.
