Actually, I think you'll find most atheist do believe in morals. They just don't believe in objective morality is all.

I'm talking objective morality in the Biblical sense. I think that pseudo "objective" morality about certain acts or core moral rules evolved over time and are encoded into our DNA. Add in a mixture of basic human empathy and compassion, emotional investment, social and cultural values, a sense of fairness, and of course enlightened self-interest. These explicit moral values exist because they are advantageous to the survival of the species.

I wouldn't generalize about that statement on objective morality. I am an atheist, and I also believe in objective morality in the sense that I don't think unprovoked, meditated murder is ok.
