  • I like the "what would a good price for her be" part, because the bibile has suggestions on that.

  • I was brought up Baptist. Married, had 2 daughters with a violent, having sex with teens... I read my bible too, but the church told me I read it wrong. The shame of being a single parent was all mine. I went to church, worked hard... I was shamed for working and shamed for getting welfare and shamed for knowing my bible and asking the wrong questions of THE "authorities!". LOVE he asks some of the same questions I did!

  • Not a part of the "Christian Covenant"? LOL! So is the bible the "word of god"? Or just some of it is the word of god and some not?...Or just the parts that some group or person says are the word of god? Is it possible that all of it is just a collection of stories and fables made up by ancient and ignorant middle eastern Semites?

  • 4) Bummer the show ended there. We all know there are no "commercial breaks" in life. Did the woman later go home and realize Sheen had only taken Bible verses out of context, too? I wonder if she tried to reach out to the President after to say, "That was weird. Can we talk instead of argue?" Or maybe,"You know, you're right - the Bible was written within the context of many cultures. Are there any overarching themes in it, though - things we can claim and build a foundation for discussion on?"

  • 3) Why did Sheen's character resort to debate versus a dialogue? Couldn't he have disagreed with the issue without reverse-bullying the Christian? I thought bullying was a bad thing - or only when it's from one direction?

  • What a lost opportunity to explore something 3-dimensionally:

    1) Unfortunate that the "Christian" in this doesn't respond back with any thought or speech. Who in real life would act that way if they were attacked for their beliefs like this?

    2) The Martin Sheen character is just "carrying" those verses around in his head? Also unrealistic in a culture where more people post links or copy and paste other people's thoughts versus offer their own in a conversation.

  • @nooyawker You must live a very boring life. I am surrounded by those kinds of people.
