After Effects? Plus, regardless of how it was done, or how gay it may seem to some, I thought the end result was really nice. Besides, it's about showing off your capabilities, not necessarily how it's done.

you know why your render time was 3 months right.......u can get it done in one day........cache all the data to a separate location and do not render the entire scene only render the element your are using. make sure you render it as a PNG or anything that can make a sequence.....doin that u can start and stop when ever you want. after that you can comp it and make any other change to lighting without having to re-render....... believe me i learned the hard way also
