Bob I got mine for the F-4 and F-22. For what you are going to spend and all the work you are going to have in the air system, put your $ into Down and Locked. The only way to go. Also they are going to have small lenear actuators for gear doors that are the same size as the air powered ones we normally use. Call Mitch Stott. Great guy.
I would stick to the normal valves. Pressure drop is flow dependant in a valve so when your retract is not moving anymore (stuck) the flow goes to zero and there is no drop in the valve and the full tank pressure reaches the piston surface. If the retract is still not moving then you have another issue like small piston or low pressure or obstruction. A small valve is the same as a big valve that you put a restrictor on so that your retract movements look realistic. The same holds for the piping
i use a cap from hobbyking and it plugs into a spare channel on you reciver and incase of a brownout its will save the connection. they only cost about 1.89 each and are worth every penny

Why not just go electric with Down and Locked
you will save weight and be alot more simple of a install.
