@jamieyeng it is a fernandes vertigo custom made for him (single coils) ;)

@reddhouse He has influences like everybody else if you were a musician you'd know that music is not created in a vacuum, so I may have been off by comparing him to paul gilbert but his guitar playing on the whole is not anything new or unique. Ennio Morricone had his own style and Hotei definitely picked up on it.

@pbmadness123 What kind of a stupid comment is this. All music is scales and arpeggios, it is how you organize them that allows you to make a musical statement!! And Tomoyasu is clearly making a unique one in this unaccompanied guitar solo!

@chuck9000 Get your ears cleaned this does not sound a bit like Paul Gilbert. Tomoyasu is completely unique and has his own style. To compare the two is ridiculous! Its like comparing Santana to Yngwie. Absurd!

His co-production with Kuriyama Chiaki is epic

Yeah, but I think Tomoyasu Hotei is a more influnence to Paul Gilbert. I think Hotei is older than Gilbert.

He´d played at BOOWY which was the best japanese rock band with Kyosuke Himuro.

Guitar ecstasy! Does anyone know what guitar he's using? Is it an Ibanez??
I was introduced to Hotei by the late Michael Kamen in 1998 in Abbey Road studios where they were recording a song called Thank You And Goodbye. Hotei was extremely gracious and polite. He's a great guitarist and I appreciate his music.
