Just a little update-
Alexandra won the 2009 level 7 junior olympic championships and is now preparing for the 2010 season as a level 8

With the right training, and good coaches like those at San Diego Rhythms, flexibility training doesn't cause injuries. Tumbling is much more likely to cause stress to the spine, thus rhythmic gymnastics is regarded as far more safe on the growing child. Further more, as long as when stretching the child does not go past her own limits, then injury is very rare. Besides this, Alexandra(sasha) is very naturally flexible, and is hardly ever even in minor pain while stretching.
