I really commend your efforts but you need to set small goals first. One thing you have to realize is that 3500 calories burned over a week is =1lb of fat. You should try to lose at least 1-2 lbs per week, 4-8 lbs per month, and so forth. It will help you physcolgically and you will not get depressed. I do not mean to impose, but I do like to advise to eat less and pay attention to portion control as well. May God bless you and keep up the goood spirit.

@TheUnbreakableOne HAHA! 10,000 cals a day would be sweet. If I could get away with 6,000 a day, the parent company of Haagen Daz might see a stock price increase. I got to 250 by eating about 4k a day. So I know I could never get away with that and get down to 190. I'm eating a large quantity of veggies and lean meat divided into 4 meals. Plus one nutrition shake. I'm never hungry, and stay around 1800 to 2000 cals a day. No appetite to eat more than that. Still some sugar cravings though

@TheUnbreakableOne 1800 calories might be a little low. The US Government guidelines on caloric intake for my height, weight, and age just to maintain my weight is 3200 calories per day with 30 to 60 minutes of exercise. To LOSE weight it goes to 3000 calories per day. Again, that's with 30 to 60 minutes of exercise per day. You lost weight on 4500 per day because of your size. Still, 4500 per day is WAY to much food for anyone, if you are eating nutrient dense food and not junk food.

man..........cannot believe i missed this vid! i'm always happy to hear from you!
Men need no more than 2200 cal per day, women less than that. 3500 cal per day is still ridiculously high unless you plan to do some major exercise.
I am on the low carb diet and I do 1600 to 1800 cal per day and a one hour walk which burns approx 300 to 400 cal My starting weight was 250 I am 6'3" goal is 190

At 1800 calories/day you'll be losing a lot more than fat, especially if you just jump in head first without taking the time to taper down slowly. From December 30th, 2009 - April 2nd, 2010 (little more than 3 months) I lost more than 50 LBS consuming nearly 4500 calories/day and doing NO cardio. I've only recently cut down my calories (still 3000+) and I'm still not doing cardio.
Everyone's different. Good luck.

@TheUnbreakableOne So the 1800 cal per day IS to low for me but it is only for a jump-start for 30 days. Then I will stay around 2500 or so per day. I do not eat any junk food. Only whole foods in their natural state. Basically we do all our shopping in the produce, and meat sections and that's it. No sugar. Not is any of it's forums including hidden in sauces, ketchups, etc. There is no hunger when eating nutrient dense foods. The body will not crave junk food or massive caloric intake

@BillionYears It's all relative. If you've watched my videos then you'll know 2 things about me, 1.) I'm a powerlifter - my level of exertion is much greater than yours, and 2.) I'm on the paleo diet which involves eating only natural, nutrient-dense foods - beef, pork, chicken, seafood, fruit in moderation, non-starchy vege's, nuts, some dairy in moderation, and olive oil.
And while I'm 'less' hungry and am 'less' apt to crave junk food...

It's important that I'm completely satisfied. And at 1800 calories/day, taking my level of activity into account, I certainly wouldn't be. If I could lose weight consuming 10,000 calories/day, I'd eat 10,000 calories/day, without a doubt. But that's not the case, and for now all I can get away with eating while still losing is 3,000-4,500, and I'm doing my best to limit myself to that range.
Be careful with those "jump-starts."

still holding strong? you are pushing me to keep going, which I badly need.

100% strong, man. I'm surrounded by junk food and I haven't had a bite of it since I started. I've also been to the gym EVERY morning for cardio, and I've gone back in the evening to lift weights 2x. I'm looking forward to my first weigh-in on Wednesday morning. How are you doing?
