A foreshortened travelogue I did, now cut down to fit the 10 min. YouTube requirement.

Bhutan's borders were closed to travelers for over 400 years.
I went there shortly after the King opened the borders so to enhance the 'quality of life and well being' of the people. He called it the 'gross national happiness' (King Jigme Dorje).

Pristine and protected, primarily Buddhist and considered the seat of modern Buddhism (a Monk flew there on the back of a tiger and lived in a cave called 'Tiger's Nest' while he came up with what we Westerners know of as 'Buddhism'.)

There is a new King now and I believe travel there is easier than it was before. Well worth seeing in person. A fascinating place with many types of birds, animals and plants that are found only in the Kingdom of the Dragon.
Hope you enjoy the video.
[It is comprised of excerpts from my travel journal- and most are not meant to relate to what is being depicted on the screen at the time.]

If you have questions about travel in the region there, drop me a line. I'd be glad to lend advice, but I am not a travel agent nor do I represent a travel agency.
