  • There are some big errors in this video. Who ever put it together didnt know much about the evolution of African American Muisc.

  • @skooptv Please tell me what's wrong. I'm dying to know.

  • where was Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Bo Diddley and Fats Domino?!

  • this was done in a very limited amount of time to include the entirety of the evolution. and the audience i had to appeal to was my high school, not the entire youtube community. i'm sorry to have not included everything.

  • boom boom isn't by W.C Handy, but by John Lee Hooker

  • 6:30 and on is insulting.. where is grand master flash?

  • African-Americans don't realise the importance and significance of their own culture

  • Great Video!

  • The video is a good attempt at chronicling African American music but it left out some of the trail blazers like Mile Davis, Chuck Berry, Smokey, etc. Also, everyone needs to keep in mind the tragedies that many of these artists dealt with and the $ and credit due them, that was exploited. In other words, these artist created remarkable music but the White man got the profit.

  • as far as rap goes, you should include rap from the 90's since it was probably the most meaningful rap music, especially 2pac

  • Black people is rich in talent

  • Cant believe there are so many negative and discouraging comments on a young persons attempt to share a school project. Good start Lydia!

  • 1920s-1940's: complex, meaningful jazz music, very well performed, well written, musician puts effort into writing it.

    skip ahead a few decades

2000s-2010s: lil wayne, soulja boy, ect. repeating a few mumbled lines over and over with a simple beat in the background, mostly about bitches and money.
