does the fuel filter only help with gas milage??. . i have a chevy truck that turns off when i come to a stop. . any suggestions on what the problem is?

Very helpful vid...I am sure my vectra has a dirty, partially blocked fuel filter...the symptoms are...very low economy....light blue smoke for about 5 mins when I cold start it....needs longer ignitions when cold.....it,s a 2007 vectra 1.9 cdti...I've had it for 6 months....do not know the history of the fuel filter service....the problem has been progressive in the recent past....Anybody has a clue?

in reality those connections would be so corroded that you would have to cut the fuel lines and use flexable fuel line and clamps to put back together.... right boys? things dont come apart that easy ever
