The US might have build about 184 F-22s but it is economically impossible to keep them all in the air in case of war times. This is why countries prefer to modify existing planes with better BVR missiles and radar. If the US were to even try to put a tenth of those planes on the air, it would bankrupt the country.

@runxxeroxx actually you are wrong. the F-22 has almost the same cost per flight hour as the F-15, and actually requires less man hours per flight hour to stay operational. only 184 F-22s have been built because we dont need to spend any more money on even MORE of the most advanced aircraft in the history of mankind that was designed to utterly annihilate an enemy that doesnt exist anymore(the soviet union). it has NOTHING and i mean NOTHING to do with performance in any way, shape, or form.

@runxxeroxx And when it came to this realization has definitely decided to cease production of the same, because in peacetime conditions F22 became a logistics nightmare-Financial, and each one a little more experienced Officers USAF knows how to make the introduction of F22 just looked at some of the the many conflicts that are restricted for water worldwide, and about a God forbid more global conflict, I think the role of the F22 was the only defense of U.S. airspace.
