A short review/test of Mike Tapa's EOS mount for FS100.
Everyone who's shooting with Canon DSLRs will be looking at the FS100 for it's lack of moire, aliasing, and non-video form factor whilst delivering great audio, a strong codec and a wide choice of glass.
EOS lenses are a challenge off Canon cameras - no iris control. Almost all adaptors require you use them wide open. Mike Tapa has designed a mount with a separate control box to set the aperture and report it and the focal length of any EOS zoom back to the DoP.
I do hear that there's a possibility that the magic box may also power Image Stabilisation on lenses that support this. That's huge, making the Canon IS range and the amazing image of the FS100 into a very capable reportage camera.
