The Tea Party's Response to Insider Trading by Congress and the President of the United States


To the Members of Congress and the President of the United States,
After watching 60 Minutes's show on Congressional and obvious Presidential insider trading and peddling of financial information to Wall Street hedge funds, we the Tea Party feel:
All ill-gotten gains by elected officials made from equity trades, do to insider information or conflict of interest, should be redistributed proportionally back to all holders of all involved equities. This should be retroactive, up to ten years, whether in or out of office.
Furthermore, we feel that all laws that protect any elected official from prosecution for insider trading be repealed. This action should take place within the next 90 days.
Now it's time "we the people" start redistributing your wealth.
We understand that "All men are created equal" correct, or have we missed something?

@unquietsoul Oh side note, a large number of those donors of Ron Paul's are Microsoft Employees (who apparently have been heavily encouraged by their employer to donate), members of the Finance and Insurance Industry and a fair amount of the military (which seems to spawn from his anti-Gay and possible racist statements in his own newsletters in the past that he's tried to distance himself from in this Presidential run by claiming someone else on his staff wrote such under his name.

@ozonewdb He has taken no PAC money to date for THIS run, but did take PAC money in his last presidential run. 48% of his money this run comes from Large individual contributors (those are people who have donated $2,500 each and are not 'little guys'). He is also associated with a PAC (but not taking money from one directly) the Revolution Super PAC. And is associated with the conservative 'Nevadians For Liberty'. These organizations pretty much do negative attacks on his opponents.

@ozonewdb Ron Paul has not built his political war chest on $10 donations. He takes in donations from individuals of up to $2500 each on his website during his 'money bomb' fundraisers.

Additionally his personal assets involve very heavy investment in Gold Stocks. This is a bearish bet against the economy so that he profits as long as the economy is bad. He's betting on things just getting worse and worse, and is working to keep it that way. Tell me he's on our side and you're a fool.

@sweetbilly Do you know what congressmen and senators are paid. It's not minimum wage, I assure you. They make $174,000 a year in either house or senate. Its not as bad as corporate CEO pay, which can be many many millions a year, but where I come from thats certainly no where near minimum wage.

Exaggeration has no value in this discussion except to spread misinformation. The facts are scary enough by themselves.

I centered on the actual video and the research that the journalists involved presented as well as their attempts to get answers, not generating some conspiracy theory or exaggerations without any proof that you are presenting.
