    Though really, those civilians should have known better than to run alongside a chopper. It's like in old cartoons when people run down the line of a tall, thin falling object instead of sidestepping out of its path. The civilians should have gotten down or run in the opposite direction of and somewhat perpendicular to its motion, not to mention in different directions.

    yes in fairness to the south vietnamese its often said that we fought for them while they did nothing. in fact a quarter million south vietnamese soldiers got killed--a huge percentage in relation to thier population
