I was at the afternoon concert when Dylan's appearance was a complrte surprise. I became an instant Leon Russell fan that day and just saw him last summer (40 years later!) opening for Dylan in Asbury Park! - JG

@elvez1231 Leon was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on 3-14-11. He is now 69 years of age.

My sister's oldman back in 1971 was proud that he was also from Lawton, OK. His family knew Leon's family although they had only met a few times because Don had been career Army in Nam until he got back, got out and dropped out.. I got turned on to him then and have been a bully fan ever since.
