Who is George Adamson?
The best selling book titled BORN FREE, written
by his wife Joy Adamson, was much in part written
from George's notes.

George lived in a remote area of Kenya, East Africa.
He was 'gentleman', who was courageous, caring,
and no person that has ever lived knows Lions on a more
personal, intimate basis than this remarkable man.
George was a friend to the Lions ....
He was "Baba ya Simba"(Father of Lions)

Sadly in August 1989 George Adamson was murdered in Kenya, East Africa by Somalian bandits when he went to the rescue of a young European tourist and his assistant in the Kora Reserve. He was a unique and wonderful gentleman who devoted his life to helping wildlife and to protecting the unique environment in which they lived. His was a rugged life style, in a bush camp with only a few modern conveniences.

He was a Hero to the end .... giving his life to save another

George Adamson wrote in his book:

"Who will now care for the animals, for they cannot look after themselves? Are there young men and women who are willing to take on this charge? Who will raise their voices, when mine is carried away on the wind, to plead their case?"

George Adamson
1906-1989
