& people who think that they should be comp for the land which they dont own..are the biggest cheaters... this is the sad story of india... you can practically build a house on any peice of land...bribe and get a ration card...bribe and get a phone...bribe get electcity...and form a union and demand comp.... when will the indn idiots realize this? the land for the airport was allocated in 1927 ...and people moved and encroached this land in 1963 since it had no fence...and now they want comp?

You must be delusional if you actually believe that. I don't know about the US, but this is the big difference b/w China & India.
China's all about the superficial achievements, whereas India, as a democracy, does not have the "luxury" of just kicking out ppl forcefully.

@edvan88, situations in China and US is different. At least ppl got compensated in these two countries. But this video shows that slum residents didn't get compensation because of corruption.
Very good report AlJazeera. Both sides have truthful points to persuade the argument in their favor. The unfortunate reality is that expansion will have to be made. The airport is too vital to the financial stability and growth of Bombay. Unless land is allocated elsewhere for a secondary airport, the slum dwellers will have no choice but to leave.

Building an Artificial Island costs a fortune. India is still a poor country.
Anyway, Mr Ambani is building a new city and airport across the bay in Navi Mumbai...
