Something to think about:

There are three axes: x (left-right), y (up-down) and z (to or away from the observer).

Cless' position is based on the x- and y-axis, his attacks are too.

No matter what the z-coördinate is, Cless' attacks will hit there since they only require an x- and y-coördinate.

Jade can't sidestep Cless' attacks because of this. Jade can however hit Cless regardless of z-postion.

Looking at it this way, it's actually a quite balanced battle.
