  • Holy shit! This is everything rock 'n roll ought to be!

  • Could that German audience have been more sedate, or what?

  • These two are my favorite, though the whole set is awesome. I would put this up against anything today.

  • @degree7 There's no synthesizer in that performance. Maybe you meant the organ, which is timeless.

  • @SlappyFrankenstein

The synthesizer is a bit dated now... and maybe that mullet Elvis is sprouting.

  • What a ROCKIN' show and what a LAME crowd. They had NO idea of the icon they were witnessing. ELVIS RULEZ!!

  • @phillydog17 You were at this German RockBlast ? Philly Dog ?

  • Notice how this is video was shot in the mid-to-late 70s, but there's no embarassing outfits and the music isn't dated at all, unlike some acts from that period whose clothes and tunes are laughable now. Remember, this vid is less than a year after Elvis Presley's death and only 7 years after the Beatles broke up.

  • @keonewstuff cont ... though I love Burt's music. On Spectacle he did a short version of Smokey Robinson written "captured by the game" that was fantastic. OK well good-luck and I do not think you ever need to apologize in any way for an opinion.

  • @keonewstuff I understand what you are writing but you should realize his anger is not what makes his songs great to me. It's not the young and angry and toning it down is not a bad thing .. it's just that the melodies have gone downhill, to me since Imp. Bedroom. Sure I like a few later songs like Everyday I read the book or when I was cruel or 45 or Spooky Girlfriend and Elvis did a fantastic cover live of "I just don't know what to do with myself" (not the one with Burt Barcharach) ...

  • @11xzxzxz I guess it's all in personal preference. I mean sure he's "toned it down" but I don't think he did it completely for his female fans. As you get older you just don't feel the same as you did when you were young & angry. He's had plenty of great songs that gave you just as much as Imperial Bedroom and its predecessors. I don't like you comparing him to Cole Porter in that sense but I think I understand what you mean. No hard feelings at all for your opinion though. He's still in my top.
