SABERTOOTH TIGER! - Big Cat Camp.

Listen in as Intern, Will Boswell, talks to summer campers about the Sabertooth Tiger, its hunting technique and what people believe it looked like in prehistoric times. Summer campers are invited to share their vacation with 140 big cats of every size, color and personality. While participating in educational activities the campers enjoy meeting lions, tigers, leopards, and many other felines. Learning about animal habitats, diets, adaptations and conservation issues is an adventure to remember! @ivesour White tigers don't exist in the wild, African lion numbers are dwindling due to loss of habitat and poaching....too many people :(

I wonder is the common house cat a desendent from smilodon?I look at my tabby cat roxy and wonder if she is related in some way.

All cats are related somehow, very, very distant relatives!

The biggest species went extinct because of a lack of food. The bigger you are, the more you eat, and as food supplies were growing more meager, the largest species could not feed themselves, they literally ate themselves into extinction.
