The Smiths live at The National, Dublin 1983

This is at the end of the night after the Morrissey Roundhouse cancelled concert of January 25th '08. Leaving the pub, I got chatting to this man and made this recording (while we were all a bit pashed).

FYI: The Smiths played The Hacienda Club, Manchester on the 4th of February 1983. I don't think The Smiths played in Dublin until December '83, when they played SFX and that was only their third gig outside of the UK. They had played on October 12th '83 in Pontypridd at the Polytechnic Of North Wales and at the University of Bangor on October 14th. To my knowledge, after having cancelled the Glasgow gig in July '83 that was their only dates outside of England until the SFX gig. So, when and where did this guy see The Smiths?

They played SFX on 9/12/83. The played 24 times previous to this. None of these were at Trinity College Dublin. I'm sure my research is correct but if you can prove me wrong, I'd be glad for you to provide me with the facts.

i saw them both nights at SFX in 84 and also the Stadium in 86 ( THE POSTER IS ON MY SON'S BEDROOM WALL )...I also met the Smiths at the soundcheck that day...and had my copy of Hand in Glove signed my Morrissey and Johnny Marr..Weirdly, Ben Watt and Tracy Thorn from Eberything But The Girl arrived with the Smiths for the soundcheck...and were there at gig later that evening.James supported on those gigs and were great.
