This video shows bulldozers automated for teleoperation by ASI. Teleoperation includes video and map position feedback, and doesn't require a line of sight to the dozer. It is usually performed from an indoor control station.

  • Tele-operation is only used if the remote supervisor decides he wants to step in for some reason, or preform an operation with the dozer without taking time to program, such as shaping something with the front blade etc.

  • The main use for the Dozer automation is in strip mining where large areas need to be deep ripped before the excavators come in to load the material on to trucks. Autonomous Solutions provides advanced path planning to minimize wear and tear on the equipment (fewer stops, fewer gear changes etc). The dozer then goes out and does the job completely autonomously.

  • @bishopdante yeah but if you are clearning it out for housing then it would be too dangerous to live there too.

  • i can do this with any vehicle but you wouldnt want it to be your and you definetly wouldnt want to be around it

  • Are you saying that human operation in these areas are dangerous?

  • @davepamn

These are for Gaza. Do you get what that is?

  • In what conditions would a teleoperated bulldozer be useful?

I could see value in using the teleoperation in landfills where the air quality is poor
