  • who cares what a critic thinks?...and graham is a back=stabbing promoter, he never created a damn thing, Fowler actually worked with people in the creation process, even Helen Reddy...which should tell you something.

  • Ever hear of the Sonics? True proto-punk in my opinion.

  • @TheShelterAtl paul weller is the most successful artist in the uk charts- as in number #1 all time- i expect a35- 53 year old man to move on past punk unlike jon lydon who has to rely on one or two albums for his fame- look i dont like all of wellers solo stuff but hes atleast relevant and still drawing large crowds and maintained his dignity unlike the clowns lydon and jones- ps theres alot of non love songs wellers written lately- im gald he split the jam- their legacy is untarnished

  • @salvadory What the hell are you talking about? I'd bet my house that the Sex Pistols sold more albums than Paul Weller, let alone ANY major new wave artist (talking heads, blondie, tears for fears, psychedelic furs, even howard jones for god's sake) Don't get me wrong: Paul Weller is a genius...but he chose to abandon his bands and go solo...to write lame love songs...

  • Fowley has got brains than the others put together but cos his odd they are not listening

  • Fowley is obviously the only one who knows what he's talking about, who can FEEL the times, and who understands how culture is being created, and what it takes. He must have seen a lot of "reality" but he's not too cynical here yet, and there's almost a soft innocence to him. But look at interviews with him 20 years later and you'll see what the entertainment industry really is: UGLY. It's about selling souls to the devil.

Still, it's interesting to hear him. The other two are a bore & a prick.

  • And Paul weller has become the most successful musician and artist from the whole new wave and punk scene still going strong and topping the uk charts! In europe he is one of the most well known musicians from this era and Joan Jett did well and still looks great for her age!

  • @MioneRiddle1926

    Amen!

  • Robert Hilburn did his homework and understood punk on an intellectual level (and enjoyed it no doubt),yet he always brought up Springsteen as a comparison or reference point, but Bruce works in a more traditional rock framework and succeeded on those terms where punk had to fight like the dickens to gain a toehold, and never was accepted until years after the punk pioneers had split and the music became more homogenized post-Nirvana (which doesn't mean the newer punks lacked the spirit).

  • SINCE WHEN IS ROCK AND CLOTHING A FAD...FUCK YOU BILL
