  • @12VPULLER this tractor engine will turn 6000rpm because of the fuel pump size

  • @12valvepower1 The turbo feeds the blower. All 2-stroke Detroits are naturally aspirated, unless they are turbocharged as well. The blower, or blowers (in the case of a 12v) in a v configured Detroit sits in the lifter valley. It moves spent gasses out of the engine, and allows fresh air to be ingested. Thats all they do. No boost is produced, unless a turbo is plumbed into the intake, to provide positive manifold pressure.

  • A healthy Detroit there. Pretty damn good pull

  • @bingorobins1010 Guess thats what happens when runs out of fuel at high rpm

  • This tractor has no governor, actual runs out of fuel at 4500rpm , mechanical tach, driven off the factor adapter to a tach to match, ratio runs 12v149 fuel pump. yes rack adjustment is very important.

  • @joedrummer2010 You're a little high at 2800 - they're actually governed at 2300, but yeah, I'm still with you - if they think that's 5800 RPM, they're smoking crack...... it's a two-stroke: twice as many exhaust pulses per crank rotation.

  • @12valvepower1 The blower creates all the exhaust. The exhaust turns the turbo which feeds back into blower. With a blower bypass, all "over pressure" between the blower and turbo is fed directly into the airbox. He almost said cummins when introducing the tractor hahaha

  • Not up to par, I've heard about a dozen 8v71 Detroit Diesels that would give this tractor a run for it's money. Most Detroits that you have ever heard are not tuned right most of the time the rack isn't set right. They run ok but not what they could be.

  • Sounds like typical 12v71 governed 2800 rpm to me..... but I could be wrong...

  • how do the diesels work when the turbo is fed by a blower. is the blower feeding the exhaust turbine, there by allowing the induction turbo to compress air into the engine.
