Mt Diabolo Recycling Center

CIWMB Board Chair Margo Reid Brown presented a proclamation to Mary Garaventa at the grand opening celebration of the Mt. Diablo Recycling Center in Pittsburg, Calif. Nov 13. The 90,000 square foot facility is the newest and largest facility in Northern California and is capable of diverting more than 9,000 tons of solid waste from California landfills each year. The center is a single stream recycling process, residential and commercial customers can place all of their recyclable materials, paper, cans and bottle into one large container and the center will sort, classify, compact, bundle and transport all the materials to their next steps.
