The Islamic Museum in Jerusalem has an incomparable antique watch collection as part of its exhibitions. Many of the watches were made by Abraham-Louis Breguet, a near legendary craftsman who was hired to make a watch for Marie Antoinette. But maybe the most notable fact about the collection is, much of it was stolen in a mysterious break-in, in 1983. Only in 2006 were most of the stolen watches recovered, including the famous Marie Antoinette, valued at over $30 million.
