  • I agree with alijripc. The original singer, Mathew, used his diaphragm for support of his high notes. you are using your throat and stressing your vocals. Not only does that damage your singing in the long run, but it sounds very off putting and not in tune at all. This is constructive criticism, so don't take it as me trying to 'bash' your performance; it was alright, but the singing needs work for you and your audiences' sake.

  • @JokeEnhanced thanks for the comments, and I totally agree. This performance was back when I barely knew how to even vibrato my voice, but I recently landed a lead role in my school's next musical so I've been taking lessons and practicing ALOT. When I do this again at the state competition in March, I'm gonna work really hard on making it something that is not only funny but also beautiful to listen to and fine tune the performance as much as possible.

  • This is the worst performance of this song i have ever seen.

  • @CanadienBac0n I received straight superior ratings from all 3 judges at the district competition, and my drama director chose this song as one of the 5 songs to be taken to the state competition out of the 12 my school could have taken. I'd rather trust the opinions of people who have been studying musical theatre for decades than a random internet troll such as yourself, so fuck off.

  • Please tell me you won

  • @Robo95UK I got a "Superior", which is the highest rank you can get and also allows me to perform it again at the state competition :)

  • Have you seen the play? Or do you at least know the context of this song? I think it would help alot. Don't kill your voice. You said this was when you didn't know how to use vibrato so I assume that you use vibrato now. That's good. This is a very high song and if your straight toning it you are killing you're voice. Clearly you like to act. This song doesn't really call for a whole lot of acting. I might recommend "Im not that smart" from "25th annual putnam county spelling bee".

  • @JokeEnhanced you mean andrew? not Mathew

  • I have been to many of these competitions, (although in theatre, they don't like that word) and I know that they judge the acting first. You did a wonderful job acting the song. Your singing quality was hit and miss, however. It seemed like you tried to belt some of the parts and it sounded like you were just yelling them. The acting is what they look for, and I think that is how you got the superiors. Good for you, now just work on your voice. And want to hear back and see if you understand.

  • This is just awful

  • .... What the.... why.... No... Stop shouting your words... I know you believe that strongly, but come on...

  • This just sucks

  • Awful. But I'm jealous because I want to do this in class and I can't. Damn!

  • I think the only reason people are laughing in this video is because a funny lyric came up and it was an excuse to laugh at your singing. Geez us. My friend did this song for district one and got a superior. He was much better than this poop.

  • This makes my throat hurt.

  • @CKAnimations I also think that you have never heard yourself sing. Actually listen to this one time through and try not to cringe. I couldn't do it.
