there is a silent running mode if you prefer that =]
however you lose all sensors and stuff, BUT THEY CANT SEE YOU ON THEIR SENSOR :P

They have a RUN SILENT mode that turns your suit off. It makes it incredibly hard to play, though, so now I realize just why they have audio in the game.

Actually, you can set your suit to Silent Running mode. normally you and others can be seen with IFF markers and tags, but in silent running mode your electronics deactivate and you can only hear you heart beat, but you don't show up on target locating systems.

Hopefully they'll allow some modification in the future, or the option to disable the audio simulation. I think it's going to be awesomely fun still.

Hmm, don't know if I like the whole "audio simulation" thing. I would've preferred the silence of space, would really help with immersion.
