i think the orientation should be protected. but the actions should not be protected. its ok to be attracted or prone to enjoy exhabitionism, it is not ok to actually flash someone. it should be protected to be attracted to children, but not to act upon that attraction. a mother is well within her rights to attack someone who has attacked her children. a person should not be protected for killing a pediatrician after confusing the word with pedophile.

Someone PLEASE help me to understand WHY we are even contemplating these new HATE CRIMES LAWS?????? ARE NOT THE CURRENT LAWS IN PLACE FOR ALL PEOPLE???? If someone attacks someone REGARDLESS of their sexual orientation, should they not be punished ANYWAY?? I thought that's what we were doing here???
Is it right that if someone flashes me or attempts to rape me and I SLAP HIS FACE, he gets arrested for a MISDEMEANOR and I get arrested for a FEDERAL HATE CRIME???
