@ObamaRules4Ever Gary Cooper didn't hate Anthony Perkins, he was just afraid of Norman Bates ;)

@golfdude2007 I had teh same conversation with my daughters when they saw this scene. I felt the same way when I saw it as a child. My father told me "this what war looks like"

I had the same feelings during Vietnam

See when Cooper was on WHAT'S MY LINE a couple of years afterwards, with Perkins as the panelist who helped start the group down the right road. When they shook hands at the end, it wasn't exactly cordial, but Cooper gives Perkins a little extra pat on the forearm that reveals something.

After those comments, you will be blessed only in Hell. If there is still room for you in it.

one of the Best scenes in Movie History!
He knew he had sinned.....but yet...he still had to fight on.....especially when the guy next to him gets killed......
I think this was Anthonys best acting scene ever!! even my kids askd why he was crying...? so I told them the truth.

Daemona007, I must warn you of the dangers of responding to ObamaRules4Ever. This is the same troll who has been busy at every North By Northwest clip, making idiot statements about Cary Grant. Now he's having a go at Anthony Perkins. Pathetic.
