This is a track by Tangerine Dream (at this point consisting of Edgar Froese, Christoph(er) Franke, and Paul Haslinger) from the soundtrack to the 1987 film, "Near Dark," directed by Kathryn Bigelow.

The film can be best described as a modern-day Western with a twist - it is also a vampire film. (And yes, it does stick to the traditional portyrayal of vampires as hypersensitive to ultraviolet rays, as several of the vampire characters are killed in such a manner.) Despite critical praise for its creative mix of genres, however, the film was a box-office failure, although it retains a cult following.

The film stars Adrian Pasdar as Caleb Colton, a young Oklahoma man who is transformed into a vampire by a mysterious young woman named Mae (played by Jenny Wright.) Before long, Caleb is plunged into into the world of the undead creatures of the night.

The video itself is an homage to the excellent sci-fi series "Babylon 5." In case you're wondering why I used footage from "B5", rather than the more logical choice of "Near Dark," it is because the two soundtracks seem very similar to me. This is not entirely a coincidence, seeing that the "B5" soundtrack was composed by none other than Christoph(er) Franke.

I apologize for the occasional tape jams that occur when transitioning between clips. I find them annoying too, and I blame Windows Movie Maker. (By the way, this has happened before, more specifically on my "Tr0n" music video featuring Kraftwerk's "Computerwelt.")

I would like to give apologies (and thanks) to BaldurYT and melbftw, for providing me with the clips. And yes, I know all I really did is slightly re-arrange the clips from the latter's video, but I hope you'll forgive me for that.
