  • nice work. they looks the dogs nads,

it would be nice to hear a longer moe detailed test with both pickups on.

    what makes pickups sound different?

for instance, what makes the humbuckers on my t bird sound different to pickups on say an eb0.

I am wanting to make my own Gibson RD artist bass., and want to make the pickups the same as the originals.

finding some other way around the moog board tho.

    cheers

  • @andyg3 I am going to have Keith Lowe come out and fire off some soundclips- hes the real deal when it comes to bass playing. The EBO is an entirely different pickup design- kind of bizarre and made to sound more like an uprite bass- I guess thats what they wre going for. Thats a complex question- what makes pickups sound different. There are alot of good articles like that on my .com site I wrote for magazines

  • sounds solid man

  • @kenjikitahara hey Kenji!! next time you show up im expecting you to do a DB Cooper drop in- check it out

  • you should email me at my dot com so I can send you more than 500 words but you dont need much of a route- maybe 1/4 to 3/8" deep and we have a plastic ring that can go around the pickup that surface mounts- its cosmetic only to cover any uneven routing. I had one guy mount one on a P-bass where the original pickup was- apparently it was easy to do and sounds really good.

il have a look for those articles

    cheers!

  • @LollarGuitars lol! I'll let you know in advance this time before I drop in :) ... DB Cooper, what an amazing thing to do for only $200,000!

... I'm thinking about trying out some El Rayo's in my PRS... digging the Imperials (regular wind) in my LP!

  • hi, excellent job, I am working on a project where I want to install your TB pickups on P/J configuration, As a P bass pickup is covered by a pickguard there is no problem ,however on the J pickup i need to reroute more to fit it in. Do you have any idea how to handle that issue?I don't want to take out too much of wood from J cavity? Would Epiphone shim be helpful to reroute that?
