Have you ever wondered about the person and the mystery behind the Torah scroll? If seeing Torah scrolls in the ark or witnessing their unfurling takes your breath away, or if you have yearned to draw closer to the Hebrew letters, to understand about the work of the scribe and to learn first hand how to shape and write the letters in the 4,000 year-old tradition of scribing a Torah, then this workshop is for you. Together we will explore our personal connection to the letters through creative art practices, study traditional sources from Talmud, Hazal and Zohar, and begin the wondrous journey of learning to scribe with a quill and ink on parchment. You will leave this Shabbaton with all the necessary tools to continue your scribing life.
