  • John D. Loudermilk is one of a kind. Jones's, Tobacco Road, Abilene, The Wind Knows the Truth and all his social commentary was classic, truthful and so right on.....

    The one line taken out .....except on his Volume 1 - Elloree Album....that says:

    Andrew Jackson was one dirty son of a - - - - - ! It was released in 1971

  • Wow. This is so powerful!

  • Lowdermilk was a man about 15 years ahead of his time. Love his songs.

  • Don Fardon's cover was more popular over here

  • For heaven's sake - this song is that old? Really?

    If it really is from 1959, then it was 10 years ahead of its time. I hope he got some good royalty payments from the Paul Revere version which was a big hit.
