TEDxLakeComo - Rosario Mantegna - on using physics to undestand economic complexities

E' impegnato in attività di ricerca interdisciplinare e multidisciplinare. E' stato uno dei fondatori dell'econofisica, una disciplina che studia sistemi economici e sociali con concetti di Fisica Statistica. Ha svolto ricerche presso il MPI fuer Quantenoptik (Germania) ed il Center for Polymer Studies della Boston University (USA). Nel 1999 ha fondato presso l'Università di Palermol'Osservatorio dei Sistemi Complessi. A physicist committed to interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research. Rosario Mantegna was one of the founders of Econophysics; a discipline that studies the economic and social systems by applying concepts of Physics Statistics. He carried out research at MPI fuer Quantenoptik (Germany) and the Center for Polymer Studies at Boston University (USA). In 1999 at the University of Palermo he founded, the Observatory of Complex Systems. What is TEDx? In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At our TEDxLakeComo event, TEDTalks video and live speakers have been combined to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized ( subject to certain rules and regulations ).
