Punches in movies are nothing like punches in real life....in real life, her face would've been totally rearranged probably for the rest of her life. Now..in the movie...if these soldiers had been captured for real, Jane would've been put through much more horrendous torture...including rape, over and over. Viggo's treatment of her was "gentle" compared to the real thing. He was just trying to save their lives.
