I just finished watching a life changing movie, called the cove. I have never been more moved to do something. I grew up with the love of dolphins, who hasnt? I always assumed that dolphins were always going to be there, but the very sad reality is, slowly dolphins are disappearing. Can you imagine? Years from now, your great, great, ect. Grand children wont be able to experience the amazing creature that is the dolphin.
The decline is caused by excessive hunting and capturing. Dolphins are wild animals and yet they continue to sell to marine parks, for amusement purposes. They are used to travelling 40 miles a day, in a tank; its like putting us in a small cage. Its cruel and even worse; the ones that do not sell are slaughtered in cruel, terrible ways. IN Taiji, Japan, Dolphins are cornered into a small cove where they are mercesly murdered, stabbed at with sharp knives on a poll. Its disgusting. Not only is it a terrible fait for the dolphins, it is terrible for our health as well. Their meat contains 2000 ppm (parts per million) of mercury, way over the legal amount of 0.4 ppm. People can die from mercury poisoning, and deform our children, but we dont even know its happening. The Japanese sneakily hides the dolphin meat as large whale meat, which is legal to sell.
I highly recommend people to watch The Cove, it opened my eyes, and its disturbing truth of the slaughter in Japan will make you think twice of the beautiful dolphin. Save the Dolphins and sign the petition to stop the slaughter at: http://bit.ly/coveltr

@FreckleWitch I have watched "The Cove" and it's cruel that people have the hearts to do such things, why would our race do this. The cove shows what is happening to our wildlife. Its just sad.

Everybody I know, even meat-eaters, are against this.
How these "people" can even look themselves in the eye everyday, or more so their children's eyes and tell them the world is a wonderful, happy and great, safe place is BEYOND me!!!
Those who do this do not feel, as HUMANS do!!! If they did, the guilt itself would destroy them.

I love The Cove, one of the most moving videos ever. I am such big supporter in dolphins but I have never know what i could do do help them. I feel so usless. lol This is such a beautiful video, it really has inspired me.

i know! its so sad, also whales and sharks are hurt like this, too!:( It makes me so sad what people have done to animals! There are so many innocent animals out there! Like tigers, and seals and horses that are abused and slaughtered!:( People can and are such cruel and stupid butt heads...D:

This is one of the greatest tragedies of our world. How predictable that the human race should be the cause of it. Dolphins are such stunning animals, and I find great sadness in knowing that we are murdering animals that can be argued as being superior in intelligence to us.
Beautiful video. I have not yet summoned the courage to watch "The Cove", but it is a movie I plan to watch.
