  • Hey man,

I just got the Ultra 8R, and I was wondering whether you know if it's possible to use the 8 outputs with windows, so you could for example watch a dvd with 7.1 surround sound with windows media player.

    Keep up the good work!

    Andel

  • I doubt you can use WMP to do that, but there may be a program to do that.

If you were using an editing software that has ASIO surround sound then I'm sure you can.

  • would this be good for recording a band or that???

because im thinking of buying one?

  • Yes, perfect for recording a band b/c it multitrack!

  • Great video dude... thinking about ordering my box tomorrow! I hear there is a little problem with the headphones, as in they're not loud enough, which causes this box to be pretty useless for recording in a live situation or even drums... You agree?

  • amigo ayudame ya vi que tienes cubase y yo no tengo protools, mira el asunto es que en cubase no he podido configurar los 8 canales de la fast track ultra ¿como le hago para usar los 8 canales desde cubase? gracias Dios te bendiga

  • Thanks very much for this video!

  • What's up dude, I'm opening a studio, and I'm looking forward to getting this m-audio box, cause It's multitrack. Problem is, I don't know how to multitrack, haha. how exactally do I do that through pro tools. I'm using windows 7.

  • thanks for the tutorial - i've been trying to figure out the split second problem you mentioned , when I overdub. When you mute the recorded track, how do you hear what your singing? This direct monitor mode you speak of - is that what I need to enable?...thanks again...

  • your tracks clipped all over the place. the video was really good, i would just say check levels especially before tracking drums. not just you, but like as a rule of thumb, because typically adding plugs and stuff adds a lot more output gain to your tracks so its good to make sure you leave enough headroom for that.

    good video!

  • You using two computers ? or the two screens linked to one computer?

  • Hey man you helped me a long time ago with mine and I had it working... I must've upgraded to Vista SP1 since then and everything went bonkers. The tray icon is spazzing out causing protools to not load. Did you upgrade to SP1 and have similar problems?

  • Do you notice any issues with it being USB 2.0 as opposed to firewire? Ive had some trouble in the past with USB not being a fast enough connection to handle things like this.

  • dude, u need new cymbals. perhaps a new snare too. just sayin
