Paranormal blog #3: YouTube offer!

Got an interesting e-mail from YouTube on the day I made this video, so I just thought I'd share :) Yes, most of the video is blank, not much to look at here...

3/24/10 EDIT: screw it, it's been five months later and I just decided to go ahead and start the YouTube profit sharing program. We'll just see how it goes...

4/14/2011 FINAL NOTE: I just canceled the program today; it took a little over a year to not even make $20, so it wasn't really worth keeping it going. And for those that say that anyone involved in the paranormal shouldn't get paid, well, I really sold out on the paranormal to make a whopping $19.76 U. S. from it ;)

Yeah sure. You might have to post it as an answer several times before it works...one guy had to do that to one of my videos THREE times before it freakin' worked! I kept on clicking on my e-mail link to being taken to a blank folder, saying there were no answers there! But I'll let you know either way, of course!

None of it's b. s.-ey. I'll just eventually see an attorney about it; actually I need to see my consumer affairs attorney at some point anyway in regards to something else, so I can just bring this up while I'm there too, if I've been able to buy a video camera and have transportation by then.

"one-sided" type contract. Meaning the contract should be equitable for both U & the YouTube. Does this make sense? If it doesn't, just ignore this note. U don't need to reply to this unless U want to. I know you're very busy. What I meant by "OUT-clause" in that YouTube offer is to safeguard yourself against any legal liabilities, to make sure the terms are NOT irreversible meaning NOT "iron-clad" or "set in stone", to avoid "breaching your contract" in case U changed your mind & U want out or the terms of contract are questionnable. I'm NOT a lawyer, I don't know anything about contract legalities but U want to safeguard yourself against a

Good point about making money from this being 'legit'. I can meet up with a local attorney for only $20 for a 30 minute session just to go over whatever contract YouTube might have me (probably electronically) 'sign', after that it's their regular fees. It's not a bad investment, I don't think.

But again, this is just a friendly suggestion, ultimately you're the one who can best asses that offer to make a decision. But I do like your idea, hiring a photography expert to debunk all those claims, that will add a level of legitimacy to your blog ( documented tutorial, whatever U call it ). Regardless I think it's a great idea. Maybe there's more to that offer than just money, there may other perks like the possibility of branching out into other media or expanding your marketability.
