Winners of Eurovision Song Contest 1970-1979

Medley composed of the original winning performances from Eurovision Song Contests in the seventies. It is interesting decade for many reasons. For example, Ireland got its first, and France saw its fifth victory (unfortunately, it was also their last victory so far)! Also in the seventies, for two times a same nation won two years in a row (Luxembourg 1972, 1973 and Israel 1978, 1979). And of course, ABBA gained the first victory for Sweden and went on to become the biggest pop attraction of the decade. Nevertheless, the most important feature of the seventies was the introduction of the new voting system in 1975, that with few small changes remained up to our time. As in video of ESC Winners in the fifties and the sixties, for every song there is an information on hosting city, winning country, performer and title of the winning song in the original language.

I hate it ! 4/10 1975 - Teach In are FABULOUS!!! 9/10 1976 - CLASSIC - 10/10 1977 - France's BEST win! 10/10 1978 &1979, Israel, Two of the greatest years! 9/10 My favourite is Anne Marie David 1973!! Best Eurovision song !!!EVER!!!

1972: annoying

1973: best Luxembourg victory

1974: Of course great but not the best at all

1975: a bit annoying

1976: abit annoying again but charming

1977: ONE OF OUR BEST SO GREAT!!!!

1978: the best from the 70's

1979: love it

Ok, here you can really see ABBA's influence. The only post-ABBA that sounds pre-ABBA this decade is France. Every thing else... it's like you're watching two completely different things, before 1974 and after. Interesting.
